quasiotter the singing in this is incredible! and i'm saying this as someone who usually thinks of vocals as just another instrument (especially this kind of music), but nah, they really stand out here. definitely sad lyrics lol but the music is charming and relaxing. i'm going to take a nap now Favorite track: Mind Made of Glass.

How Long 03:52
How long did I wait? Tell me how long I waited My hands in the air and my heart It deflated I saw in your eyes a future someone Believe me I tried but I must keep on runnin' And I wish you had stayed for a while if only to cry I wanted you, I wanted Keep dreamin' I keep dreamin' for you for you to be growin'
2.
Flood Lights 04:12
I ran up on the hillside everything was drowning in mud a waterfall falling down and it took with it, many lives all my friends climbed the white rocks and I followed them inside a secret tunnel maybe it would save our lives flood lights and a man with no arms he speaks to me in the dark I called her name I screamed it out no she's never gonna hear it the world is ending and she's gone
3.
in a tunnel of flowers I was dressed in all white and the sky was violet colors was it day was it night? there was sun and moonlight reaching out for my mother's hand she stands there she just stands all the air was still and I I smiled two dimension waves everything looked so strange violent colors wonder why day turns to night hello night, hello I recall what my mother said the ending is not the end all the air was still and I I smiled all those thoughts ran through my mind but they weren't right
4.
I woke up in my dream again I was running from you all the water was green again and orange, and blue little boy with his hand in mine we raced to the edge of sight your hands like a thousand ravens flappin' at our heels we won't fly again no we run but the sunset is weighing us down the sea is a mind made of glass a mirror you can't grasp horizon lines are just vast pictures, escaping the past my old selves with their arms in mine we raced to the edge of sight
5.
Night Beams 03:45
bring on the night beams I could have told you what you wanted to know electric wild flowers will grow and I could've shown you like a firefly fallin' from the sky streaks of light glowing and I drown in them I can see them
6.
have we met before? a couple times in dreams at night never sure about a name just a face, right? at the man-made lake the grass same as other grass but we thought the sky was fake and we laughed the sun is a spinning wheel the moon is a snowflake the siren is calling us in and I remember you this way I don't belong and you don't belong but it doesn't matter when I'm in your arms in this dystopian homeland
7.
bring on the night beams oh I could've told you what you wanted to know electric wild flowers will grow and I could've shown you like a firefly falling from the sky streaks of light glowing and I drown in them I can see them

about

Night Beams focuses on the realm of dreams. It takes a notable genre shift from the last album, exploring symbolism in the dream world of songwriter Lauren Hay, via pop-structured avant-garde. It combines ethereal vocals with a distinct analog modality, elevated by James West's percussive magic. This set of songs is an otherworldly lullaby to soothe hearts and ears alike.

Deja View Oregon

It begins with the hiss of an old cassette. There’s a tape recorder in the corner of a small bedroom, tucked away in Eugene, Oregon. The project explores the concept of dreams in whimsical avant-pop while transporting the listener to a vulnerable inner world.
